My friend Mary showed me this site and I became OBSESSED...Ive always been so interested in the corralation between wanting to be an individual and the need to be part of a group...people who want to much to be apart from others that they become a part of something bigger....Its the eternal struggle that usually starts when your a teenage...and for some continues your whole life in some way or another..Some of the "groups" were very familiar ....however.....to me the really insane thing is the non obvious groupings...I mean naturally goth girls/nuns/Muslims/Skinheads will look the same...but the group of random guys in hoodies??? or with purple ties??? even without trying these people fall into a strange kind of uniformity....Posing them the same helps re-inforce this...but even without that the result is CREEPY!!!!!
Photographer Ari Versluis and profiler Ellie Uyttenbroek search Rotterdamn for these amazing anomalies.....The group names are sometimes made up and always appropraitely funny....Some of the groups you click on are accompanied by Ellie explaining in very poetic terms what makes these groups so Homogenious.....It's amazingy addictive...and i kept wishing there was more for me to look at.....
